You will have to read your "Terms of Service." If you have a normal residential contract; you will most likely have to call your ISP and add a clause that allows you to share. Often this is an additional $10 a month. Be clear that you are sharing with neighbors and not reselling any sort of services.What if I don't want to share and help those without?
freifunk uses mesh protocols to set up networks that anyone can join. (This soes take some knowledge or the right firmware as most people aren't familiar with ad-hoc networks.)If you want improved firmware for your router but aren't in the sharing mood; consider using X-wrt instead.
What sort of guarantee does freifunk have?
